MOU Negotiations

After several negotiating sessions the TSA has declared an impasse with the City. The TSA presented a variety of offers to the City including; reducing the furlough time to 2.5% in FY 2011/2012 and either a COLA of 2.5% or a 2.5% one time bonus payment in FY 2012/2013 and a guarantee of no additional furlough. The City's only counter offer was to give the TSA the exact same deal given to SEIU. That offer was rejected by the TSA bargaining team. The next steps in the impasse process are determined by the City's Meet and Confer ordinance for both parties. In the mean time the current TSA contract expires on June 30, 2010. This means the TSA and the City either need to extend the existing MOU or TSA covered employees would revert back to being under the City's personnel rules. The TSA board is looking at which option best serves the members.
