Human Resources Director Selection Process

Bargaining Unit President:
The role of the Human
Resources Manager is to provide outstanding personnel services to the
organization to ensure the needs of the citizens of Tempe are met. The
recruitment for the Human Resources Manager position closed on Friday, April 4.
We need your assistance in selecting the best qualified candidate to fill this
crucial position. We want your bargaining unit involved in the selection
process. You, or someone you designate, are invited to participate as a member
of one of the oral board interview panels. It is anticipated that oral board
interviews will occur sometime between mid-May and mid-June.
Please let us
know if you, or someone your bargaining unit designates, can commit to working
with us throughout the process for this very important decision. Please let me
know who will be representing your bargaining unit no later than Friday, April
18, 2008. It is expected that interviews will be completed in one day. Once a
date has been confirmed, you, or your designee, will be notified.
To help us determine
the best candidate to meet the needs of our organization, we also invite you to
solicit questions of your bargaining unit members that they would like asked of
the candidates. While we can't guarantee that all questions will be used, it
will give us an idea of the important issues or concerns that you would like
addressed. Please gather all your questions and submit a single list of
questions from your bargaining unit to me no later than Friday, April 18, 2008.
